Why am I getting an error when I attempt to import my events/staff with the template?

Errors that occur during an import, for staff or events, are typical due to invalid or incomplete fields on your import template. It is important that you do not delete or rename any columns from the original template or make any other changes or additions. You should only be adding information to the necessary fields.

The following items are very important when bulk importing staff or events, using our templates:
  • The name of the file must be "importstaff"
  • The name of the tab must be "importstaff"
  • These fields must be completed:
    • Title 
    • First/Last Name
    • Email
    • KEY

  • The name of the file must be "importevent"
  • The name of the tab must be "importevent"
  • These fields must be completed:
    • Event Title
    • Start Date ("TBD" is not acceptable in any date or time fields and will cause an error during import)
    • KEY

Important Tips:
  • Do not include events that are already in the CMS, as this will cause duplicates
  • Do not use apostrophes/single quotations
